LACONNEAU AUTUMN FESTIVAL

Laconneau Autumn Festival
Friday, October 31 - Sunday, November 2, 2008
Artemis House, Greenville, NC

The Autumn Festival marks the beginning of a season of silence. At the Spring
Festival, we learn through relationship; at the Autumn Festival, we learn through
separating and allowing to die that which is no longer useful or relevant in our
lives. By doing so, we align ourselves with the endless cycle of death and rebirth.
For the Tradition of Laconneau, the Autumn Festival is a rich and deeply
meaningful time. Through this festival, we remember the One we serve as well as
our sisters throughout the ages whose courage and self-sacrifice have allowed us
to participate in this rich inheritance. We remember them not in sorrow but in
joy, for this is the time of the inward journey, the giving up of the old life in the
sure knowledge of rebirth. It is a time when we remember with hope the ancient
prophecy that forms the heart of our Tradition: “Al cap dels sept cent ans
reverdajara lo laurel.

This year, we will continue to hold the Autumn Festival in the old way and in full
accord with the principles of our Tradition. Come join us in Greenville, North
Carolina for this wonderful weekend of comradeship, workshops, feminine
spirituality and festivities. Lend your voice to the power and love of sisters such
as yourself who feel a burning need to see change in this world.
The fee for the festival is $275.00. To register, please contact Elaine at
Greenville@laconneau.org. To reserve your space, please submit your deposit in
the amount of $150.00 by October 17. The remaining balance for this event is
due at the festival. In addition to the fee for the festival, housing is $40.00 per
night, payable to your respective hostesses. Please also budget $20.00 per day
to cover lunches, altar materials, and Elaine's household costs.

REGIONAL NEWS

Laconneau Scholarship Fund
The Laconneau scholarship fund has been established to assist women who are
unable to afford the cost of classes.  If you are in need of a scholarship, please
contact your local Laconneau coordinator.

Laconneau would like to express appreciation to Linda Dodds for her
generous contribution of $30 to the scholarship fund during the past month.
Thank you for helping to make it possible for more women to attend
Laconneau classes.

If you would like to make a donation to the scholarship fund, please make your
check out to Nancy Van Cleave and send it to P.O. Box 261 Kingston, NJ 08528.

France News
Laconneau is planning to offer a limited opportunity for a small group of
Tradition members to complete Le Sentier des Cathares in the Languedoc in the
Autumn of 2008.

News from the Carolinas
The next Laconneau of the Carolina’s weekend will be held Saturday, August 30
through Sunday, August 31, 2008 in Greenville, NC.  Included in the weekend
will be a book review of The Crucifixion of Mary Magdalene, by Richard J.
Hooper and a viewing of the movie, Secrets of Mary Magdalene.  A Women’s
Circle will be held on Saturday, August 30 at 9 p.m. There will be time for
meditation and reflection during the weekend.  The Laconneau of the Carolina’s
weekends provide a time for sisters to get together for community.  Sisters from
all circles are welcome.

Georgia News
The Atlanta circle will be holding the Laconneau Level I class on Sunday, June
15th in  Marietta, Georgia.  You are invited to come and learn about the history of
Laconneau, the Tradition’s integration with the early Gnostic Church, the Gnostic
gospels and the Tradition’s basic form of meditation.

As summer approaches, the circle is planning several hiking trips to Stone
Mountain and into the beautiful foothills of northern Georgia. The groups who go
on the trips will have a group meditation before starting out on their hikes, then
will hike and spend time in communion with nature and Spirit. Watch for further
information on the Laconneau website and in the monthly newsletter.

Pennsylvania News

In May, the Philadelphia circle hosted another Level I course. As women in the
classes learn and use the tools that build a strong foundation within themselves,
we, in turn, are able to continue building a strong foundation for the community
in Philadelphia. And as we come together for women’s circles, dinners,
meditations, and film screenings, we begin to see and use the powerful feminine
strength that is found within each woman’s heart.

Washington, DC News
On Saturday, May 31st, the Washington Circle held the Second Annual Spring
Yard Sale in Bethesda, Maryland.  Despite a dreadful downpour half way through
the sale that was so strong that flooding caused police to close the main street, we
still managed to bring in close to $2,000 from designer handbags, shoes,
furniture, books and paintings. Many thanks to all those who contributed and
participated. All monies will go to benefit the Laconneau Scholarship Fund.
